Unraveling the Bonds of Time: A Journey into the Sueur Lineage Via iGENEA DNA (

Family name Sueur

The recent discovery from my iGENEA DNA test has unveiled intriguing and previously unknown insights about the Sueur lineage. Connecting the Sueur surname with Western Europe, particularly areas comprising modern-day France and Belgium, the test found evidence of links back to ancient societies of these regions. The results have also identified haplogroup R1b within this lineage, suggesting a common male ancestry. Further connections were traced to the historical Gauls, adding a profound historical flavor to the Sueur heritage.

My foray into my personal past through an iGENEA DNA test held remarkable revelations about my origins, particularly about my surname - Sueur. Anchored in genetics, this test offered the unique opportunity to delve deep into my ancestry and uncovered fascinating insights about the Sueur lineage which were previously uncharted.

Interestingly, the scientific results of the iGENEA DNA test revealed a significant connection between the surname Sueur and Western Europe, particularly the regions that now constitute modern-day France and Belgium. This strong correlation indicated Sueur as a patronymic surname, with roots entrenched in the ancient societies of Western Europe.

The iGENEA DNA test also shed light on the haplogroup of the surname Sueur. This haplogroup, identified as R1b, categorizes major lineages of human male descendants and its presence in the Sueur lineage hints at a common male ancestry. This haplogroup is often associated with Western Europe, further solidifying the geographically-based conclusions.

Another striking finding was the historical influences traced in this lineage. Through the test results, connections to the era of the Gauls, a Celtic tribe, were unveiled, providing a historical dimension to the Sueur heritage. Coincidentally or not, this matches with the historical period of Gaul dominance in contemporary France and Belgium.

Lastly, based on the mutation rates of Y-chromosomal markers, the iGENEA DNA test was able to determine that the lineage of Sueur had a significant increase in population size approximately 1800 years ago. This suggested a potential period of survival advantage for the members of this lineage due to either environmental or social factors during that era.
