Ever since I embarked on a venture to dig deeper into the history of my family name through a DNA analysis at iGENEA, the exercise has been an enlightening and rewarding experience. My last name, Nail, has always piqued me. My curiousness got the best of me, and eventually, I took the plunge.

Turns out, the name ‘Nail’ stemmed from an ancient clan that can be traced back to Celtic origins, specifically tied to the regions of Ireland and Scotland. That was a revelation to me as I've always presumed that my roots are in England. This totally reoriented how I perceived my bloodline, providing me a fresh perspective and opening pages of newfound history that I was oblivious about.

‘Nail’, as it turns out, was derived from the ancient Gaelic name 'O’Neill', meaning ‘champion’ or from the clan named 'Neall'.
