Much to my astonishment, my findings were full of surprises, the most notable revolving around my Kutzner surname - which unveils a mix of Baltic, Scandinavian, and Eastern European roots instead of solely German origin.

During my exploration of deep ancestry, I decided to opt for a DNA test from iGENEA. I was excited to journey hundreds or even thousands of years into the past to trace my roots. The results were mind-boggling, opening a whole new chapter of understanding of who I am. The most intriguing revelation was that my Kutzner surname, which I had always assumed was of German origin, surprisingly unveils a potent blend of Baltic, Scandinavian, and Eastern European roots.
My DNA Results showed that Kutzner significant genetic markers matched closely with the Y-Haplogroup I1, dominant within Scandinavians, and to a lesser extent, North Germans and Balts. Interestingly, despite my surname's German appearance, it appears my paternal line is more intertwined with Vikings' history than with the archetypal German lineage I had imagined.
Another curiosity arose when I received data on my maternal heritage. I found that my mtDNA Haplogroup was H, a characteristic of Eastern Europeans, suggesting my maternal lineage may trace back to those regions inconsistent with my general perceptions derived from my family history.
