Unearthing surprises and journeys: The Broussard code cracked with iGENEA DNA Test

Family name Broussard

I had always been fascinated by genealogy, so when I took the iGENEA DNA test, I was thrilled. However, the test results were more surprising than I ever imagined. From a lineage spread across France and Canada to a participation in notable historical events, my family name, Broussard, holds an integrally captivating record of survival, resilience, and legacy.

I have been fascinated by genealogy since I was a child, and that fascination only increased when I took the iGENEA DNA test. It informed me about a lot more than I had anticipated. The major surprise was my ancestral surname, Broussard, which took me on quite an unexpected yet captivating journey.

Substantial pieces of evidence established that Broussards were originally spread across regions of France and Quebec, Canada. I was always aware of my French lineage but didn't realize that my ancestors also dwelled in Canada. This revelation added a new, exciting layer to my familial background.

Gleaning from an array of historical records and databases, I learned that the Broussard family held various distinguished positions in society. The puzzling twist was some of my distant relatives were a part of the French Revolution, which was new knowledge to me.

The iGENEA DNA test also shed light on the possible migration of my ancestors during the 17th and 18th centuries. Interestingly, it found that some Broussards immigrated to Louisiana during this period. I am, indeed, a collection of survival stories that span continents and centuries.

On further research, I found that these settlers played influential roles in the Acadian resistance against the British, marking yet another unanticipated turn in the narrative. This discovery explained the small percentage of British DNA found in my results, previously a mystery to me.

Delving deeper, I unearthed another surprise when the test revealed the presence of Native American DNA. This indicated the assimilation of my ancestors with the indigenous tribes of Louisiana.

The iGENEA DNA test was an enlightening experience. It offered me an intriguing plot of surprises, from my Canadian heritage and participation in historical events to the blend of European and Native American lineage. In essence, I realized that the journey of the Broussards is one of noble resilience and survival, leaving an incredible, intercontinental legacy behind.
